Activities
Basic idea that is leading the Lighting Detectives is studying and nurturing the culture of lighting. They are involved in practical work – through work in the field. Not relying on the existing theories, ideologies or prejudices, they are analysing urban environment, public buildings, private homes, accidental or planed lighting phenomena publishing and exchanging results and experiences – all of that aiming to advance the culture of lighting. By their activities, commentaries, examples and publications they are affecting the public and the city council in terms of improving the look of the city and lighting efficiency, forming visual identity of the city and improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.
Activities:
- searching after “heroes” and “villains” of lighting – good and bad examples of lighting
- light-up guerrilla – quick and short night (light-up) actions of lighting the space and objects in the city; planed in detail and quickly carried out in a space, on a façade or some object in the city
- exhibitions, lectures, publications
- yearly world symposium Transnational Lighting Detectives Forum
